Every day, seven young people aged 13-24 in Britain hear the life-changing words: “you have cancer.”
For a young person, cancer doesn’t just affect their health – it can take away their independence, their confidence, and the things they love most. By 2030, this challenge will grow, with 10 young people expected to face this diagnosis every single day.
Teenage Cancer Trust provides unique care and support, designed for young people. Laura, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma aged 24, explained:
“The Teenage Cancer Trust unit surprised me… I expected a cancer ward to be depressing and full of people who were a lot older. But the Teenage Cancer Trust unit was so bright and colourful, and the staff were a great emotional support for me.”
